GO READ BOB MATTHEWS

Thanks for the head up. I'll check it out. Bob M is a sports information / opinion treasure. And He was the most responsible for the Frontier field being in existence. We all own him much more that can be delivered. Long Live Bob & Bob.

thumbsup.gif Thanx for the heads up. I will check out the wham site.

# 3. 6/1/12 6:11 AM
I'm not finding it, Bob. And when I use the search feature I get an ad for Bath Fitter.

Editor's Note: i'm sorry, it's not posting until 10 a.m. he and i are on slightly different schedules. i go up at midnight typically, and he will go up at midmorning.

thumbsup.gif If Mathews doesn't cover it, then it didn't happen. His column could be called "Sports Shorts" with a sports star autographed pair of FuboWear shorts as a logo. Good Luck Bob M.

thumbsup.gif Bob,

Since I couldn`t find Bob Mathews column yet, on the WHAM site, I was going to tell him that I was looking forward to his coverage on the upcoming Belmont Triple Crown Race, which the new Triple Crown Contender "I`ll have another" almost did not survive! It seems that one of Steinbrenners (Yankees Owner) horses was loose on the practice field and almost collided with "I`ll Have Another", which I think will still win the Triple Crown of 2012!

And Bob Mathews, this is the beginning of another great life where you will write for the whole world on Cyberspace!

# 6. 6/1/12 7:06 AM by Jonathan - Rochester, NY
Clear Channel's websites make the D&C site look GORGEOUS in comparison.

# 7. 6/1/12 7:18 AM
Thanks for the heads up , Bob. Now if I could only find the link . You are correct, WHAM's website sucks.

Editor's Note: it'll be there at 10 a.m. eastern time friday. he's finishing it up right now.

# 8. 6/1/12 7:18 AM by Grandma Taxpayer - Greece, NY
thumbsup.gif Glad to see Bob Matthews will still have a column.......and it will be FREE to read!!

I just called the D&C the other day to cancel my subscription after 35 years because they were going to charge me an extra $20 bucks every three months for the "online" edition which I don't want or need. I can read tons of news on the internet for FREE. I refuse to pay for it. So, now I will read the paper (thin as it is) at work each day for free and go to WHAM to check out Bob Matthews "blog."

By the way........I was on hold for about 15 minutes on the D&C phone line waiting to cancel my subscription. My guess is they are getting a ton of cancellations.

# 9. 6/1/12 7:24 AM
It is far better to do something that you like than to do a job just for the money. How many people have a job that they say is so great that they would pay their employer to let them do it? I have met a few as I am sure you have, but very few indeed. What good comes from doing work that you hate? That's where heart attacks, ulcers, and high blood pressure come from.

# 10. 6/1/12 7:38 AM
"What overjoys me about this is that there is that Bob Matthews goes forward."

What?

Editor's Note: oops. thank you.

thumbsup.gif YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAYY!!!!

In all honesty, I can't think of anything else to say!!!

What a happy day for Rochester!

Good Morning, Mr. Matthews!

# 12. 6/1/12 7:56 AM by Larry - East of East Webster
I just read your response to #3 and that's why I couldn't find the other BOB. I hope he is writing about the Belmont today.

# 13. 6/1/12 7:58 AM
Yer not satisfied with us reading about the rich and super rich politicians and their owners now you want us reading about multi-millionaire ball players (no offense hockey pucks) and their owners.

To the commenter who said Bob M. got Frontier field built I think the taxpayers had something to do with that---but you'ld never know it because they sell the naming rights to the highest bidder.

Good luck Bob M., but I, unfortunately, have enough to handle wrangling Bob L. to the ground acouple times a week.

# 14. 6/1/12 8:18 AM
Can you please plug my business as well?

Editor's Note: welfare isn't technically a business, client.

You're right. The WHAM web site is such an annoying, steaming pile of confusion that, even when I hear Chet talk about something interesting to see, I just never bother to look. Clear channel should have one of their web guys fix it before letting them go.

# 16. 6/1/12 8:48 AM by Original Lurker
Unfortunately, my company which shall remain nameless (but it starts with a big red X) blocks WHAM's website.

Is there a direct link to Bob Matthews' online column that isn't on the WHAM website?

Otherwise I'll have to break down and read it from home.

# 17. 6/1/12 8:57 AM
thumbsup.gif Our computer system blocks radio stations. If you could somehow figure out the URL to directly access the column, I would appreciate it.

Bob - I think you are on the cusp of something great. Not a drudge report, but something better a cyber newspaper of columns not blogs. I would subscribe to the Lonsberry Post even if it was just you and Bob M. If you threw in a few more regular newspaper columnists asking for a few dollars support might make you a million!!

Editor's Note: it ought to be me, matthews, pitoniak, marcotte, anybody else who wanted to come along. we'd make no money, but it'd be a good read.

Editor's Note: welfare isn't technically a business, client.

Welfare is definately a business.

# 21. 6/1/12 11:00 AM
thumbsup.gif #17 here again. I'm still blocked. Does he have an independent URL like you do? If WHAM is hosting rather than just linking, I feel I'm sunk. Pulling hair, gnashing teeth, weeping copiously........

# 22. 6/1/12 11:07 AM by Debbie - Rochester, NY
I've been reading Bob's column for a very long time. I read your column as well. Ah, the good old days, when the local newspaper was actually worth the cost. Thanks again for the heads up.

# 23. 6/1/12 11:33 AM by Michael - Las Vegas, NV
I'm surprised that this is your topic today when, thanks to Mayor Bloomberg, the whole country is talking about cup sizes...

# 24. 6/1/12 12:09 PM by Steve
19 has a point, why don't good news paper people just start their own? Most papers are failing because they are simply awful in a lot of ways. I heard bob on your show say its a shame to be losing papers, not to me they spit on America far too long for me to care and the writing is awful. More than a paragraph for a topic would be nice.

Anyway I like bob m.

# 25. 6/1/12 12:25 PM by Rick G. - Spencerport, NY
thumbsup.gif I think your support of your friend is admirable. I'm not a sports guy, so I only read Bob's D&C column once in a while, but he has a way of making sports accessible to people like me.

Regarding #19 - if you need a 4th, let me know.

# 26. 6/1/12 12:25 PM by Bill - Churchville
Still took me 10 minutes to find it. CC must have cut the web design group when they cleaned WHAM's house a few months ago.

# 27. 6/1/12 12:47 PM by Anne - Webster
thumbsup.gif Agree with #16. I just checked and WDKX is blocked as well, so it's not a left/right thing. You can access using your smart phone. Just turn off the wi-fi and use the iOS functionality

I'm a woman, looking for a man, any takers? H'mmm....Bob, set me up with him!!

# 30. 6/1/12 1:06 PM by Aidan - Ontario, Canada
"But a column that was foolishly sent into retirement by America’s largest newspaper..."

I still can not believe that Gannett fired Bob. Those bastards!!! He is missed here in Canada.

# 31. 6/1/12 1:13 PM by Galina - Caledonia
I would love to listen to Bob in the morning. He should be on from 9-12. You could be on from 12:15 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

# 32. 6/1/12 1:23 PM by Tech Geek
1997 called, WHAM. They need their website programming back.

# 33. 6/1/12 5:22 PM
thumbsdown.gif Gave up trying. That site sucks. Not worth the effort.

# 34. 6/1/12 8:46 PM by John - Albion, NY
thumbsup.gif Thanks for the heads up. Bob Matthews is still a great writer and I miss his column in the paper...along with the other writers the D&C decided to jettison.

# 35. 6/4/12 8:13 AM by Earl
Thanks for the tip, Bob. I've really missed Bob Matthews' column, and I'm looking forward to reading it online.

Recently returned from a business trip to Pittsburgh, where I was read the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette every day. Now there's a good newspaper. Such a contrast to the once-great Democrat & Chronicle.

Without Bob Matthews, there's no reason to buy the D & C any more.

# 36. 6/4/12 8:15 AM by Earl
Correction - I meant to say "where I read the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette every day", not "where I was read the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette every day".

I may be getting old, but I'm not that old !
