Thanks for outing this jerk.

I don't know anything about him either Bob.

I am less than impressed with David Bellavia, but at least I know where he stands and were it my district he would get my vote.

The fact that the King makers in the party have chosen Chris Collins is another good reason for me to support his opponent.

So I wish David the best.

I love David Bellavia, and if I lived in this district, I'd vote for him. I am still bothered by his support for Jack Davis as the "tea party" candidate. All of us on the right knew Jack Davis is/was a fake, but somehow David was fooled on this one.

Editor's Note: i think he might have done that to stick it in the eye of the republican establishment, which had kind of double dealt him. also, though jack davis had some weaknesses, his stand against the chinese rape of our economy did make a lot of sense to me. in a race between a liberal democrat and a goof-ball republican, old jack wasn't such a bad choice.

Brilliantly said, and you gotta wonder even more when it comes to these Politician.

Let's not forget about this lying piece of crap who said he was in Vietnam.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal will deliver the commencement addresses this weekend at the University of Hartford's graduation ceremonies.

Why is it that only millionaires seem to ever run in this country. I appreciate the column today. When they say the wealthy run this country, they are right, whether it be a millionaire Democrat, Republican, Mitt Romney, Obama, whomever. Why can't some middle class man or woman ever make it to the Presidency these days. The millionaires are highly outnumbered in this country, yet we have no choice but to elect one come election day. I am not a Republican, but from what you have said, this Bellavia sounds like a good candidate. I am looking for people who REALLY are looking out for their fellow man in this country, instead of those who hoard their money while pretending to give a damn.

thumbsup.gif Collins did a passable job as County Executive, in Erie County. He got the financial house in better order than it had been.

He lost re-election because of arrogance. He's a successful businessman; best suited to an executive position.

If I weren't cursed to live in Slaughter-ville, I'd vote for Bellavia.

Despite what she'd claim, the only reason that Kathy Hochul is in office is that the Erie County Republicans put up a blonde with cash.

Editor's Note: i don't disrespect hochul, she is a nice lady and a hard worker. but we have fundamental disagreements. and she won because the other side put up an idiot against her -- because the other side is blinded by dollar signs.

thumbsup.gif Well, I suppose one could say he reigned in his own parade.

Mt Morris and Brockport are nowhere near each other, and neither are nowhere near Erie County. This congressional district is so whacked.

I went to Bellavia's website.

So his qualification is that he is a war veteran?

Editor's Note: imagine. one of them in the congress. what a novelty.

Bob - if you can secure an August 1965 copy of Popular Mechanics you can build a double tree stand for under 50 bucks.I built one and it lasted for more than a decade.heres some more info http://www.deerhuntingtreestand.info/

You helped the Dems get this district, too late to turn back now.

Editor's Note: i'll vote for hochul before i'll vote for collins

# 15. 6/5/12 1:07 PM
Collins' website sez he's 62. Let's just hope he keeps HIS shirt on.

We escaped from New York, but lived in suburban Rochester for many years.

We have crooks and idiots among our politicians too, of course, but I have observed that New York seems to have more than its fair share.

# 17. 6/5/12 2:38 PM by Poplar Beach
#11 I spent 4 years in the military and I learned far more in those 4 years than in the previous 21 years.

I can not say this of all military folks, but considering David Belavia's record, I will put my trust in him over 90% of today's aspiring politicians.

Quote: 'We need some pay-as-you-go people.'

Umm, this just in: we can't do that, either, since the 'way we/you go' is borrowing from those not even yet born. So those in the now can have what they want.

This society is predicated upon inter-generational child abuse.

Bobby.....you still don't get it. Thanks to Citizens United it is the one who has the money or the one who can raise the most. Chris Collins wins on both counts.

Get ready to vote for Hochul.

Bob..FYI Don't bother with the above info..I subcribed to PM for years and remember this was just two bicycle frames bolted/welded together with lawn chairs as seats it was flimsy at best..nothing your going to spend 8 hours in...just pay the $300.00 and get the real thing

thumbsup.gif Collins also shunned Bellavia's challenge to a series of 8 debates - 1 in each of the counties in the new 27th. He finally succumbed to the pressure somewhat and will debate twice - once of course in his beloved Erie county.

Bellavia all the way. If by some chance Collins gets the nod, I will be voting for Hochul - at least she's honest and up front about where she stands.

# 22. 6/5/12 8:49 PM by Dennis - Elma, NY
thumbsup.gif Right on Bob! Collins is nothing but a self centered, snake in the grass. That's why his sorry ass was voted out of office last Fall.

# 23. 6/6/12 8:55 AM by Mary - Marilla, NY
thumbsup.gif Great article! The Erie County GOP is launching a full scale attack on Bellavia. Strong arming committee elections, threatening committee members, and firing people over their support of this man. This man, David Bellavia is a man of valor & integrity, so different from the GOP machine. I would be honored to have him represent me.

# 24. 6/7/12 8:23 AM by FDR - Hamlin
thumbsup.gif As a resident of one of the 2 MC Towns in the new 27th, I was overjoyed to finally get rid of Louise. I was equally thrilled that David Bellavia could be our new rep. Then along comes "I will never run again" C.C. Chic Chris has no chance in this Town. Unfortunately, Erie County outnumbers/outspends us.
