THE SAVAGES ON THE BUS

If they are not expelled from the Greece school District, they should be banned for life from the Greece school buses. Make them figure out how they will get to school until they graduate from high school! No more free ride on a Greece bus. I am sure their parents are as outraged as everyone else. It's a shame this is what is going on in our society every day.

A bar of Irish Spring in their oral cavities; and a Scared Straight-esque lock-up for a night or two with Bubba. That was my original "xp" version of a Bully Response Package.
We're gonna have to change up the personnel, though, I'm afraid.
We can stick with the soap, but how about we roll with this: we put Nikkon cameras and press creds around their necks, and force them to walk down a New York street with Alec Baldwin?
Sorry for the swap-out everybody, but word on the yard is that Bubba's saving himself.
For Eric Holder.

Over 10,000 complaints from all over the world came into the district.
The Greece Athena middle schoolers who harassed this poor woman are: Luis Recio, Wesley Helm, Brandon Teng, and Tyler Warren.
Anonymity is too good for these little punks.

"And a beaten down woman figured it was better to take the taunts of social defectives than to run the risk of rocking the administrative boat."
I think we need to know just what authority this monitor had> Could she have stopped the Bus? Called the cops? Taken names? or merely "Shushed" the kids?
Bottom line is that the monitor SHOULD be in control, and for reasons yet to be explained this monitor lost control of her charges. Was it lack of authority, or lack of ability?
If all a monitor can do is "Shush" kids, then who needs them. You can bet that had she wacked one upside the head (as was deserved) a lawsuit would follow.
I'm sure yesterdays incident was not the first time something like this happened, it was merely the culmination of the erosion of authority over the year.
Just as a teacher should be able to control her class, a bus monitor should be able to control her passengers.
The question in my mind is was she constrained by school policy, or did she fail to exercise her authority over the past year?

Double thumbs up Bob!
The inmates are running the asylum and the adults who run it and work within it have allowed this to happen.
I don't care if a kid has the worst parents in the world. The kids need to know that from the time they step foot on a school bus to go to school they have rules and regulations to follow and those rules and regulations will continue when they get off the bus to walk through the front doors of the school! If the kids don't follow the rules then kick the kids butt out!
If I was on that bus I would have pulled the damn bus over and hauled their arses off, called the cops and sorted it out later.
School districts across the nation claim they are powerless to institute discipline in public schools. I say frankly Bulls_ _ _.
The liberal public school system in this country cares more about hurting a kid's "self esteem" than they do about keeping law and order in the classroom. They won't even use a red pen to correct homework or tests because it is "demeaning" to the kids. Teachers blame administrators. Administrators blame the parents. The school boards have expensive lawyers on the books who scare the crap out of people by telling them they will get sued up the ying yang if they try to put law and order in the schools.
The public school system has reaped what it has sowed for the last 30 years. These kids need to be punished and punished severely. However, if we had some higher expectations of behavior in our schools and adults who had some you know what, this horrible attack may never have taken place.
# 7. 6/21/12 7:47 AM by DD
This is inexcusable behavior. It's the pack mentality gone wild and savage. The only innocence on that bus was the victim. The bus driver should have pulled the bus off to the side of the road,,, and stayed there until the feeding frenzy ended. That action alone, without words and without getting up from the driver's seat, would have hushed those beasts into silence within 15-seconds. That piece of trash should be fired for ignoring it.

I want to see these kids! I think they should have to post these kids faces in the paper. Another proud moment for the Greece schools. And Greece has a large number of students bussed in from the city, so how do we know they aren't some of those students on this video? Greece has long had a knock on it's schools for bringing so many urban students in to the district. It certainly would be interesting to see who these kids are!
# 10. 6/21/12 7:57 AM by Oscar
Blacks should have their own buses with armed guards as monitors.
Editor's Note: only one of these kids was black, and he sounds like a follower, not a ring leader.
# 11. 6/21/12 7:57 AM
Not likely that the punishment in this case will ever fit the crime. What we need is for a Joe Arpaio type enforcement officer that let would require them to camp out in tents for the summer, dress them up in little pink suits and take them out each day to sweep the streets in Greece. Unfortunately, this could not work because Dannie Donahue would file a lawsuit because the 'workers' were not union members as required by NYS labor contracts.
What will happen? There will be more diversity training, more laws about bullying, a new law requiring two monitors on every bus, the perps will be forced to publicly apologize (reading a script prepared by their hovering parents), and Chuck Shumer will blame the TeaParty.
I'm sure that school psychologists across the country are preparing testimony to justify sparing the rod because of the long term effects of punishing the little darlings.
Thank you to the poster for publishing the names, but you will probably be sued by a billboard lawyer for doing so.

Very well said.
Whatever parental configuration is responsible for these little animals should be hauled into court and made to suffer the same humiliation this woman felt on that bus.
At a minimum, 6 Greece cop cars should have squealed into their driveway, sirens blaring, and knocked on the door.
Honestly, I'd be surprised if the school district did any more than slap a suspension on these kids ... in September. Big whoop.
The bigger question for me is why the driver didn't intervene and why the rest of the kids sat in silence and did nothing.
The irony is that if the bus monitor had hauled off and smacked one of these kids and it was caught in video, she would have been looking for a job and charges would have been filed.

“If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, 19 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, 20 and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ 21 Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear."
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
# 14. 6/21/12 8:08 AM by Drew - Rochester, NY
Had these children been properly raised and disciplined over the course of their brief lives, this never would have happened. A large portion of the blame can also fall on the parents. They will likely NOT see their child's behavior as anything but "harmless childish taunting." They are part of the problem
Nothing will come of this. No punishment. No liability. And no change.
Greece has a cancer, and it is the "entitled" mentality.
# 15. 6/21/12 8:12 AM by Richard Scudder - Rochester, NY
I think that an appropriate punishment would be that each of these four students receive three hard whacks on the backside with a rubber hose administered by the principal of the school in front of an assembly of the entire school student body. That might just discourage such behavior in the future and it is the way things were handled in my day.

# 17. 6/21/12 8:18 AM by John - Penfield, NY
There's no "crime" here. Our "victim" society has gone overboard with hate crime legislation, so we don't need special crimes and penalties for another protected class.
But there should be punishment, and the Greece administrators have all summer to think of the best solution.
I can't imagine being the parents of these kids - how embarrassing! But given that these parents are probably reaping what they have sown, they were probably the first ones to Like the video on FB.

# 19. 6/21/12 8:21 AM by Nancy - Chili, NY
What exactly is the bus monitor's purpose? Isn't she there to keep order on the bus so the bus driver can do his job? Why was she silent? She is the adult! What's the point of a bus monitor if she is toothless?
# 20. 6/21/12 8:21 AM by Jerry - Rochester
I've watched and re-watched this video to understand the tone and language of what was going on. I, for one, am not that shocked by what happened I saw happen on that bus. The same thing happened repeatedly back in the 1970's when I was in high school. The only difference is that we didn't have hand-held video recording devices. This incident is nothing new or novel! It's not any example of how civility is declining or that our kids are becoming savages. This has always been going on. Read "Lord of the Flies" for goodness sake! All this doesn't make it right, but let's not pretend that there's some new trend occuring in society.
Editor's Note: it didn't happen in my school in the 70s.
# 21. 6/21/12 8:21 AM by Fred
This is the result of the pussification of America. If my kids ever talked to someone like that, they would have no teeth left. The libtards think that everything is 100% fine.

Greece is a trashy suburb. From the government, to the crooked cops, to the school administration, to many of the trashy residents. Here's an example of that.

I think the parents of these animals are to blame. I hope they are fined thousands in punitive damages. Greece NY has sure turned into a haven for liberal whackos. We have to nip it in the bud now, or Greece mall will be another Irondequoit mall. Yes, it's my prediction Bob, you may use it.

Welcome to the future everyone. Slap your kids today just for good measure, even though they never do anything wrong of course. Buy them an even better smart phone so they can take sharper videos next time...and become smarter smart asses.
The parents of those retards on the bus should be ashamed (and held accountable). Their kids lives are pretty much ruined. Oh well.

"...we wondered about their homes, and what sort of “the apple doesn't fall far from the tree” ugliness we would find there."
Sadly, their post-boom parents were most likely raised in the "ME" decade. I would REALLY like to see some sort of public apology by the perp's and their 'rents, but it'll never happen. What we'll most likely see indignance on their part, at accusing their poor Johnnies of being monsters. Waa Waa Waa.

Bob, I find this to be morally unacceptable behavior for students toward ANY adult! Not only did they humiliate her, they embarrassed their families and school! Why was the bus driver accepting of this behavior and blatant disrespect?? Why was the bus not pulled over and the issue addressed right then and there?? THEY ALL SHOULD HAVE consequences TO PAY at some level of the disciplinary school conduct rules! They probably talk to their parents that way! The administration of this school needs to come down hard on these ingrates! And they ALL owe this woman a heartfelt apology! HA....guess you would have to have a heart with compassion for other human beings to do that!! disgusted!!!!

I grew up in the town of Greece in the 60's and 70's. I witnessed the gradual slide into the sewer. The problems are systemic. Look at the leadership or lack there of at all levels. The school district is pathetic. Now, this problem can be fixed. However, it will require bold and determined leadership. It will be unpopular with many parents. But it is necessary to take back control of the schools. Untie the hands of the teachers, administrators, bus drivers, etc and enforce the rules. For now, life time revocation of bus riding privileges. Long term suspension from attending classes on campus. Attend classes off campus at an isolated location. Separate these a$$holes from the student population and staff. Make this incident a permanent part of their school record right along with their grades. After their long term suspension, reintegrate them into the student body on probation until graduation from the school district.

These over-entitled little bastards are part and parcel to the reasons that Kodak no longer exists as it once did. Kids in Greece harbor a special kind of arrogance that is reflective of their parents and the so-called parenting that they receive. Ask any Kodak braggart. A good share of some of the little perps had a whole summers' stay at Darien Lake on their agendas. A super-mega-overload of self-indulgence and one big party that lasts most of the summer. And if they weren't off to Darien, they had the pool at their McMansion to have all the good times of summer.
What kind of snot treats a person the way those kids did? Are their parents even bigger snots and are they going to protest whatever official punishment comes forth like the low-life trash with their Radio Shack bullhorns and their pit bulls?
How was this woman supposed to protect anyone from anything, let alone themselves on that bus from hell?
See ya at the mall. Maybe we can do a couple of flash mobs together this year.
I saw the movie "A Clockwork Orange" and wasn't as appalled and saddened as when I watched the whole unedited video yesterday. I watched a Japanese Samurai movie where a Samurai chopped the head off of a 90 year-old guy for accidentally dropping a chicken on the ground. I read books and watched documentaries on the Holocaust replete with graphic images of the atrocities committed and was more moved by the cruelty these kids showed for that woman.
I was especially sad because it happened so close to home. Where we are supposed to be safe. And secure. And happy...
# 34. 6/21/12 8:43 AM by Tony
I remember the bus in middle school. It was just like this, and we didn't have any "bus monitors", I had no idea that even existed until today.
A 68 year old woman...why?
# 35. 6/21/12 8:43 AM by Rob - Lewis County, NY
What? Hasn't the news media tracked down all the parents of these kids yet? I'm sure they're all just dying for the chance to get in front of the camera, and explain that it was just a prank that went awry... Or that the kids didn't know any better due to poor parenting... Ultimately, it'll probably turn out to be the school district's fault because they failed to meet the educational and emotional needs of these students.
I can even see at least one set of parents filing suit against the school for failing to educate their child. That would be the child that posted the video for the world to see. The parent's might even have a chance of winning too. Because in addition to being a little pisspot with no apparent respect for anyone else, he's obviously dumber than a sack of wet mice.
Do the schools still have awards day at the end of the academic year? Maybe the Greece School District could give out a new award. Big assembly, invite the parents, that sort of thing. Wouldn't that be a proud moment watching as your child walks across the stage to accept the "Least Likely To Succeed" trophy?

As a result of liberal administrators, politicians, judges and constituents the inmates truly are running all aspects of our society.
The new book,"Implosion", by Joel Rosenburg pretty much sums it all up.
We are either with God or against Him. No one can have it both ways.
It's either salvation or condemnation. As individuals and as a nation.
The end is near.
It's crunch time folks.

#20 says there's nothing "new or novel" about this? That comment is indicative of what is wrong with society. This didn't happen when I was a kid either, Bob. If we kids merely started talking too loud, the driver pulled the bus off to the shoulder of the road until it grew quiet again - which took ten seconds. She never had to say a word.
# 40. 6/21/12 8:52 AM by Vista - Geneseo, NY
Bob - something that effects (affects?) all of us, and no one has brought up, but it surely will be once the initial shock has worn off and the emotions settle:
When are the people that pay the TAXES for the public school systems going to tell the NY State government and their forcing us to pay these taxes to GO SCREW!
We've all had enough paying for these brainwash camps, where the inmates truly do run the asylum.
They learn nothing! The teachers are zombies spewing out whatever they can to keep the kids calm and in order until the bell rings, to which the next group of them walks into the room and starts the process all over.
All the while, no one school employee, not even the administrators, have the power to do to any of the kids what should be done: grab them by the collar and throw them up against the wall and get right in their faces.
If that doesn't work, have fun explaining to your parents why they have to find you another school - because you're done at this one.
However, that wouldn't be such a bad thing, because I'm convinced that a child with the "quality" of today's public school will do better outside the school learning multiple trades or having many different type jobs.
We're all sick of this - but I for one am SICK of paying out my incredibly hard earned money to be the victim instead of the assailant!

So far her vacation fund is up to over and hundred and twenty-five grand. You have to wonder what is really going on here. She is being paid to keep them under control yet she sits there and cries. Not suitable for this kind of work.

It is unfortunate, that due to the age of the actors there will more than likely be no criminal charges. What is even sadder is that the parents of these monsters will defend their actions with excuses like " it was peer pressure" or " my child wouldn't do that without be forced into it". Parents, recognize that little Johnnie is not who you think he is when he is out of your sight!. Punishment must be severe from the school district and at home. I have been a police officer for 22 years and worked as a school security officer at a local High School, guess what America? This type of behavior has been going on for years with our youth, I am sad to say. The problem, bottom line, lies within the home and the bad parenting skills. What happen to the days when you feared your parents and teachers enough that you would never think to act in this manor? I would have been beaten by my parents for these actions, and guess what? I would have deserved that beating!

The kids from my neighborhood were exactly like that. It was the cool thing to do. Just hurl non-stop insults at your peers and make fun of people all of the time.
# 47. 6/21/12 9:03 AM by Marie
What actual consequences can they & do they issue these days anyway? These heartless bastards have been getting away with this for who knows how long.
My husband & I were talking last night -- he got the paddle when he didn't wear white gym socks in the 60's and 70's. That made an impression and it didn't kill him.
My dad was a school principal in the 70s. He had and used a paddle. When he died 2 years ago, several men who were former students came through to pay respects. They talked about being sent to the office & getting the paddle. Every single one said "I deserved it." And those kids respected him and showed up as adults when he died decades later.
Where is the framework for right and wrong any more? And where are the consequences?
It's beyond disheartening when you're trying to do right by your own kids in a world like this where "anything goes."
# 48. 6/21/12 9:04 AM by Sparky - NC
My cousin used to drive a school bus. The kids' behavior was worsening as the school year went on, and despite warnings, one day, they got totally out of hand. Cousin drove the bus out into the country, parked it in a field, got out (taking the keys with him, of course), and settled himself in to read a couple of chapters of a good book. He called the transportation office to let them know he was doing this, and they were delighted. He never had a problem with the little toads again.

# 50. 6/21/12 9:09 AM by Dave B - Fairport, NY
So many questions came to mind as I watched that video.
1) What kind of involvement do these kids' parents have in their lives?
2) I'm sure she was in the front of bus. Are you trying to tell me the bus driver didn't hear any of this? I don't believe that. And why didn't he pull the bus over, help her, or just call the police to haul these punks away.
3) What is the purpose of the bus monitor. She's 70 years old, not physically imposing, and I'm certain very limited in what actions she can take on the bus so that the district isn't hit by a lawsuit.
4) What kind of cowards are the other students on the bus that didn't speak up to their peers and tell them to stop? Instead, they just video the incident while giggling about it all? They are just as guilty as the boys that did it.
Solutions...I'd like to see them charged criminally based on the threats, but the monitor said she didn't feel threatened, so that cannot happen. Good for her for taking the high road in all this. She's an impressive woman. With criminal charges out of the question, the parents need to be brought before the Board to answer what they will be doing to discipline their kids for this. They should have to send them to military school, but we know also that this will not happen. Most importantly, those boys should NEVER SET FOOT ON ANOTHER SCHOOL BUS AGAIN!! If they do return to the school in the fall, they should find their own ride there. As a taxpayer, I don't want to pay their bus fare. That money goes to the kids that deserve it.
